Child Protection Policy

Appleton Roebuck Tennis Club (ARTC) aims to create an enjoyable environment for all juniors who wish to take part in tennis, other sport and social activities at the club.

ARTC acknowledges that young people have the right to be safe, secure and free from threat.

ARTC recognises that young people have the right to be treated with respect and for their concerns to be listened to and acted upon.

ARTC will ensure that all juniors have specific programmes and facilities designated for them with appropriate supervision.

ARTC has procedures in place to help any person who requests help or appears to be at risk, in issues relating to Child Protection.

ARTC will ensure that club members and volunteers working with young people are aware of and apply the LTA Code of Conduct for Those Working with Children in Tennis.

ARTC will take steps to ensure that coaching professionals working with children are suitable to do so, through the use of references and background checks. We will ensure that all relevant people are either licensed by a recognised tennis body or have been vetted through the Criminal Record Bureau disclosure process.

ARTC has 2 adult members who are specifically responsible for children, young people and child protection:
